SYNOPSIS

An artist fights an illness, while working on his craft.

DIRECTOR'S
STATEMENT

For my second short film, I again wanted to do something different yet in the same vein as my first, meaning “show not tell”, zero dialogue; So I animated a very personal story semi inspired in my father. We're literally on an artist's POV as he goes through an illness while trying to communicate a message with his art. That's all I say, just feel it.

I miss you, Pá.

SYNOPSIS

SetDec&Props is a short film concept that tells a complete visual story with set decoration, props, music, and sound; without dialogue. It's up to the audience's imagination to not only put together the visual clues left behind but also potentially envision an even bigger story beyond the images. In this particular Mystery/Thriller/Horror/Experimental short film, we'll dive into the life and mind of Anthony Skinner.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Necessity is the mother of invention and it's exactly what I needed to create the concept of SetDec&Props. I wanted to create something truly original for my first fiction short. Living in Guatemala, I wanted to figure out a way to tell a story within my resources. I've always believed that less is more, and so I pushed myself to tell a complete visual story with only set decoration, props, music, and sound; no dialogue.

I encourage the audience to use their imagination and not only put together the visual clues I've left behind but also potentially envision an even bigger story beyond my images. By choosing what to show and what not to show within the frame it leaves room for the audience to discuss what they think, see and feel happened.
